This series contains warrants and requisitions for fugitives from justice from 1869 to 1928. Warrants are requests made by governors of other states to the Governor of Florida for the extradition from Florida of fugitives known to be in the state. Requisitions are requests made by the Governor of Florida to governors of other states for the extradition back to Florida of fugitives known to be in the respective states.

The County Guards were created in 1917 (Ch. 7292, Laws) by the Florida Legislature to replace the National Guard of Florida which had been activated for European service as part of the American Expeditionary Force of World War I.
